My Hero Academia season one is available to watch for free in its entirety for PC and Xbox One users for a limited time – here’s how you can get your hands on it.
My Hero Academia has seen wild success since its anime adaptation in 2016. It follows the story of Izuku Midoriya as he struggles with being born “quirkless” (without a power) in a world saturated by superheroes. Then, his savior comes along in the form of Number #1 hero All Might, and the budding pro’s dreams come true.
Season one of the show received phenomenal praise from reviewers, and boasts a 91% critic score and a 100% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes, making it one of the top anime series of all time. Now, Xbox and PC users can own and watch it for free for a limited time, thanks to the Microsoft Store.
How to get MHA season one for free
In order to claim the free season, users will need to head to the Microsoft Store. Once there, find the “Games & Entertainment” category, and then the “Movies & TV” section. You should see a banner at the top that reads “Anime Month weekend flash sale” with a picture of the Dragon Ball Z and MHA logos.
Upon clicking, it’ll take you to another section, in which you need to click “Weekend flash sale” and then either “My Hero Academia (Simuldub)” or “My Hero Academia (Original Japanese Version)” depending on your subbed or dubbed preference.
The price should have a giant slash through it and will instead be completely free to “buy,” saving you $16.99. The deal is only available for three days though, ending on February 3, so be swift if you’d like to grab the crazy deal.
You’ll need to head to the TV & Movies section.
Season one of Dragon Ball Z and Black Clover are also free until the same time, so also make sure to claim those too while you can if you feel like going on a super anime binge this weekend.
While not free, other shows and films are on sale, such as the MHA movie Two Heroes for $0.99 and Hunter x Hunter: Phantom Rouge for $4.99.
